Chapter 1: Animal Farm

In Chapter 1 in the novel Animal Farm, George Orwell introduces the reader to a small farm that is not very well cared for by the farmer Mr. Jones. The animals on Jones's farm are unique in the idea that they talk. Today in class we learned that stories that incorporate talking animals that tell a story and has a moral is called a fable. The talking animals discuss Jones' inability to take proper care of them and how they go hungry because of his lack of attention. We listened to a lecture on the Russian Revolution two days ago in class and the animals sound unhappy just like the workers or proletariat during the Russian revolution. I wonder if the animals are going to rise up the way the workers did in the Russian revolution.
